  How Many on JWNet are still JWs?

  i've been wondering about this for some time.

  if there are 60,000+ registered users on here, what percentage are actual non-dfed or non-daed witnesses?

  if it was 1/3, that would be over 20,000 active/inactive witnesses that post and read these pages- and that's huge.

  it was a big step for me to see a movie on the "forbidden list" and not go to an out-of-town theatre to do so.

  If you go by jw standards theres something wrong with every movie and if all things not jw =destruction no matter how serious they are even tv shows. What does it matter if you watch a witchcraft movie or a movie with two people alone on a date the end product is the same.

  Remember the little drop of poison in the glass of water idea so the only way to follow their rules is to do nothing except go to meetings, field service read their books or the bible and pray and eat dinner, sleep because if you do anything else your responsible because the big terrorist is going to start kiliing people and it will be your fault.

  sounds crazy when you think about it

  I think I have a new label

  again tonite i was visited by two elders to see what attitue i have toward the congregation.. i told them that through research i had found a number of things that i simply do not believe and was told that it was a matter for prayer and that jehovah would reveal it all to me.. good advice but what if jehovah is telling me to "get out" and is showing me that one by one he is showing people the truth as he did with ctrussell.

  what if jehovah is "spitting out" those who claim to be his slave class?.

  i was told that jehovah does not use individuals to reveal truth to, which made no sense, what about the apostle paul etc and more importantly wasn't russell an individual?.

  your on the rack now but soon you'll be tied to the stake and the fires will be set oops wrong century. Good thing it's today you'll just get df'ed and than you can start a new and happy life.

  i believe in making specific plans for what you want and not be afraid to apply for jobs or seek out new possibilities for things that you might not be qualified for. When looking for any kind of work don't assume you can't do it let the employer make that decision. Money is useful you don't have to be obsessed but be creative and think about ways to get it so you can fulfill some of your dreams.

  no robbing banks, convenience stores or pick pocketing allowed.

  It's difficult to make money writing books but my husband knows a guy at his job who writes sci fi books on the side and makes a decent side income each month but still needs a day job I,m not sure if he sells them on amazon but sci fi readers are always looking for weird new ideas to stir their imagination.

  JWs always deny the information control

  an active witness on fb just told me that they are taught to "always question what we are taught" and use not only the wt publications, but any research materials, and come to a conclusion about what they find!

  this is not what i've heard from you guys!

  does she go to some unusual-type kingdom hall, or is she mesing with my mind?.

  I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses

  hi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.

  but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.

  i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

  No matter what anyone says on either side of the issues something that is absolutely true is that you cannot openly disagree with the organization because if you are a baptized witness and you say to another witness that you have doubts about something the org says and you question whether it comes directly from god you will be summoned to a meeting with two elders to see whether theres a problem or not.

  I know it happened to me and i was told that these thoughts would constitute apostasy. Now if this doesn't bother you and you are happy never questioning just being told what to believe under threat of being a "heretic" with serious consequences than just sign up and pack up your brain and put it into storage.

  My idol worship of Rick Springfield...

  when i was a teenager in the early-mid 80's, rick springfield was popular .

  as a teen girl, i was in love with him and his music.

  the girl who studied with me was quite verbal about not idol-worshipping him or any pop culture personality.

  As a non witness young teenager around 13 thru 16 back in the 1960's i had pictures on the wall of cute boy movie stars and singers its a phase later in the late sixties it was jefferson airplane, spooky tooth, velvet underground than you just stop putting up the posters and you move on it's not really idol worship it's just something young people do.

  no i'm not planning on a 2nd, but i just wanted to try to see what the fuss was about.. well can't see that i can, didn't make me feel sick or better to be honest.

  but the point is at least now i know!

  i think thats whats called an informed desicion.

  many years ago I was contacted at the door by some very nice young men and we talked soon he arranged a study for me conducted by a very nice fun and friendly woman. while studying I spoke freely and openly little did I realize that after baptism you can no longer question w/o repercussions. Everyone was very friendly and sincere that's what makes it hard to see what is really happening you don't get a typical cues because your teachers are themselves deceived so they come off in a true way and really most witnesses are in fact good people.

  The important thing is to be careful what they are teaching sounds good but has a very dark underbelly. Do you really want to live in a so called paradise on the bones of at least 7 billion human beings?

  Do you want a life of thought control, obedience to the idea that they tell you how to feel and if you feel different you are defective. It's a tricky situation and you don't see it coming. just be careful if you find out later its wrong leaving is enormously painful and they will go to whatever lengths to make you the monster if you leave.
